Fashion Police Will Take a Break Until September

E!’s embattled Fashion Police are off duty till it’s time to discuss what’s hot for fall, Variety reports. The show “is going on hiatus and will return in September,” E! said in a statement. “We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season.” Giuliana Rancic, Brad Goreski, and Fashion Police’s executive producer, Melissa Rivers, will stay aboard the ship (with potentially more additions coming), and The Hollywood Reporter adds that when the show returns it will have six or seven episodes pinned to major events (including the Emmys). The announcement comes on the heels of Kelly Osbourne’s and Kathy Griffin’s very public exits, which stemmed from the former’s negative reaction to an inappropriate Zendaya comment and the latter’s aversion to FP’s general approach of mixing fashion, comedy, and criticism. Network executives have told THR that they will also be looking to evolve their general red-carpet coverage (they have taken note of everyone’s mani-cam and ask-better-questions qualms). Yay.
