If you heard J. Cole’s “G.O.M.D.” (off his new album) and immediately thought of a slave uprising, then props to you. In one of the better music videos we’ve seen this year, Cole takes Kanye’s line in “All Day” (“like a light-skinned slave, we in the motherfuckin’ house”) to literal extremes, playing a house slave who stages a mass rebellion against his owners — with the surprising help of one of massa’s daughters. Things don’t get nearly as violent as Django, but the revenge is just as sweet.
