A ‘Muppet Show’ Reboot Is in the Works at ABC

Kermit and friends might be heading back to television. TV Line reports that ABC is currently developing a reboot of The Muppet Show, which originally ran from 1976-1981. The Big Bang Theory co-creator Bill Prady is writing and executive producing a pilot presentation for the network later this month with the working title Muppets 2015. Details are slim, and so far only a brief summary has been released: “The Muppets excitedly gather at ABC for a meeting about the new Muppet Show. However, the show will not move forward unless Miss Piggy signs on.” ABC last attempted to revive The Muppet Show in 1996 with Muppets Tonight, but it was canceled after ten episodes.
