Entertainment Weekly reports that Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell aren’t going forward with their top-secret Lifetime TV-movie — because it’s not really a secret anymore. “We are deeply disappointed that our planned top secret project was made public,” Ferrell said in a statement. “Kristen and I have decided it is in the best interest for everyone to forego the project entirely, and we thank Lifetime and all the people who were ready to help us make this film.” The movie, which was supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek surprise for the network’s 25th anniversary, was reportedly already filmed. Hopefully this is just a ploy to make the project top-secret again.
