MTV claymation series Celebrity Deathmatch might be heading back to television with all new episodes. According to THR, MTV2 has given a pilot order to a Celebrity Deathmatch revival from original creator Eric Fogel. The revival will be similar to the original that ran from 1998-2002, only “reimagined for a social media world and hourly Twitter wars.” This makes the second time MTV2 attempted a Celebrity Deathmatch reboot; the network aired new fifth and sixth seasons from 2006-2007 but ultimately canceled the series.
