Creator and showrunner of Veep Armando Iannucci is leaving the show at the end of season four. In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, an HBO representative said that Armando is “not replaceable,” but the show would continue on with David Mandel, an executive producer of Curb Your Enthusiasm at the helm. Iannucci’s departure is not a complete surprise. In a December 2013 interview with the British publication Radio Times he said, “I want Veep to carry on, but there will come a point when I want to move on to something else. I have got a film script that’s all ready to go … so I’m just waiting for the right moment to do the film.” You’ve had an excellent run, good sir.
