ABC Cancels ‘Cristela,’ Renews ‘Fresh Off the Boat’ and ‘Black-ish,’ and Orders ‘Dr. Ken’ and ‘Muppets’ Revival

A bunch of comedies have just been canceled, renewed, and ordered over at ABC. THR reports that the network has canceled Cristela Alonzo’s freshman comedy Cristela, renewed Fresh Off the Boat and Black-ish for a second season, and ordered three new comedies to series: Ken Jeong’s semi-autobiographical comedy Dr. Ken, a Dan Savage-produced family sitcom called The Real O’Neals, and the single-cam mockumentary-style Muppets revival. ABC is expected to announce one more comedy order sometime today. In addition, ABC also handed out season renewals to The Goldbergs, Modern Family, and The Middle.

UPDATE: ABC also announced that the Uncle Buck remake starring Mike Epps has officially landed a series order. Fortune Feimster’s Tina Fey-produced show Family Fortune, Chevy Chase/Beverly D’Angelo’s Chevy (formerly titled Chev & Bev), and Johnny Knoxville’s semi-autobiographical comedy will not move forward at the network.
