Gabourey Sidibe, the 32-year-old actress who broke out with Precious and is now a series regular on Empire, is jumping on the memoir bandwagon. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt acquired the as-yet-untitled book, to be published sometime in 2017. “I’ve been writing since I was a child and have always had so many stories to tell that are too long, shady, and impolite to share in interviews,” Sidibe said in a statement. “It brings me much joy to add Published Writer to my résumé of Actor and part-time Foot Model.” Indeed, if the book is anything close to the speech she gave last year at the Ms. Foundation Gala, where she talked about how her confidence is linked to her being a “bossy, bossy asshole,” it’s going to be great.
