Jimmy Fallon Can’t Tell Jokes One-Handed

If you’re a dedicated Tonight Show viewer, you’ll be disappointed to learn that tonight’s episode has been canceled for a very strange and mysterious reason. The Tonight Show Twitter account revealed earlier today that tonight’s taping is canceled due to Fallon getting a hand boo-boo:

A representative from the show told The New York Times that Fallon “was required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment this morning. He is expected to make a full recovery.” No details on how Fallon injured his hand have been revealed, and considering that The Tonight Show is off the air for the next two weeks, it seems a little odd that they’d cancel a whole show if he’s “totally fine” despite the minor injury. In any case, I can think of no better time to salute Stephen Colbert, who broke his wrist while warming up his audience in 2007 and came to work the next day to do the one job God sent him here to do: Make the people laugh every night, and singlehandedly so if necessary.
