According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar-nominated filmmakers Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer (The Square) are working on a documentary about last winter’s Sony hacking scandal. The film — which grew out of an earlier project Noujaim and Amer were planning about hacking — will reportedly put forth an alternate theory for the still-unresolved identity of the hackers. Perhaps they were not from North Korea, as the U.S. government has claimed, but people with an inside knowledge of Sony’s systems? The specific allegations are unknown, and will remain so until the film is released or its details get leaked.

Correction: An earlier version of this post incorrectly stated that the filmmakers don’t believe North Korea was behind the Sony hacks. According to THR, their documentary will explore “alternative theories” behind the hacks, but we have no knowledge of the filmmakers’ opinions on the matter. The piece also previously ended with a supposed quote from Amy Pascal regarding the documentary. That was a joke.
