With her one-two punch of “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood,” Taylor Swift’s music videos earned nine nominations for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, more than any other artist. (If you want to be very confused, “Blank Space” is apparently one of the best female and pop videos of the year, while “Bad Blood” is simply one of the best videos of the year, period.) Following Swift are her old pal Ed Sheeran, whose videos garnered six nominations, and Beyoncé and the “Uptown Funk” boys, who each earned five. Miley Cyrus, the enfant terrible of the 2013 VMAs, shall host.
