Your favorite actresses Laverne Cox and Christina Hendricks were on The Late Late Show Monday night, which gave James Corden the opportunity to ask Cox what it felt like to be name-checked as a trailblazer for trans issues during Caitlyn Jenner’s ESPYs speech. While insisting that she was “way too young” to be any sort of icon, Cox said she is glad that the public is embracing the diversity of trans voices: “My experience as a black transgender woman who was working-class and struggling to make it in New York City is completely different from Caitlyn’s very public experience … just thinking about the paparazzi life she has, I don’t want that life.”
