This Season of ‘Key and Peele’ Will Be Its Last

Get ready to say goodbye to Key and Peele this September, because according to The Wrap, the Comedy Central sketch show will end its run after the end of its current season. “This is our final season – and it’s not because of Comedy Central, it’s us. It was just time for us to explore other things, together and apart,” Keegan-Michael Key said on the news. “I compare it to Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. We might make a movie and then do our own thing for three years and then come back and do another movie. I’m thinking we could do that every three years – take a year, go bang out a movie. That’s the plan right now.” Key and Peele premiered in January 2012, and the season finale is scheduled to air in September. Check out our season 5 review here.

While their sketch show might be ending, Key and Peele have several collaborations in the works including the upcoming film Keanu, Police Academy reboot, and the possibility of another Comedy Central series. In addition, Peele is developing a horror movie, and Key told The Wrap he’ll be acting in a film in New York soon.
