No matter how successful your comedy career might get, it’s always important to take some time out for some recreation now and then. That’s exactly what the cast and crew of SCTV are up to in a newly unearthed video from 1982 featuring SCTV stars like John Candy, Rick Moranis, Catherine O’Hara, Dave Thomas, Joe Flaherty, and Eugene Levy facing off in a softball game with Moranis and Thomas also serving as play-by-play announcers. They’re comedians though, so it’s way more bitting around and sustaining injuries than impressive softball playing: “Well we lost Moranis – he threw his back out, Flaherty took a mean flip, I took a ball to the shins and, uh, well, we’re gonna keep going!”
