CBS has a new single-cam comedy series in the works, and it’s an adaptation of a Norwegian comedy called Side om Side that debuted in 2013. According to Deadline, CBS and writer/producer Donick Cary – who has written episodes of Parks and Recreation, New Girl, Bored to Death, and The Simpsons – are currently developing an American version called Side by Side, which follows “a young couple that buys their dream home and gets caught between two feuding families.” The original series was created by Terje Solli and has aired two seasons on Norway’s NRK1 with a third on the way. Hopefully Side by Side has a little more luck in the States than the recently canceled Welcome to Sweden.
