NBC Is Producing Two Comedy Pilots from NBC Playground Initiative Winners

Remember back in 2014 when NBC announced its NBC Playground talent initiative to seek out new voices for potential comedy series? According to Deadline, the network announced today that it will produce two pilots from aspiring writers who entered the competition, and it’s also posted projects from five more finalists online for viewer feedback.

The first pilot called Imaginary Friend comes from UCB and CollegeHumor performer Kassia Miller and centers on “an intelligent yet unmotivated woman who discovers a special and unexpected way of dealing with her mediocre life.” The second pilot, titled Sunset PPL, comes from LA-based writers/producers/actors Aaron Colom and Adriano Valentini and follows “a group of millennial friends who struggle with their own made-up rules for personal and professional success.” Check out five more comedy series presentations over at the NBC playground website or NBC’s YouTube channel. The project that gets the most viewer votes will be developed as a digital series for NBC.
