American rapper Sean Price has died at 43, according to Billboard. Price was a member of the acclaimed hip-hop duo Heltah Skeltah, whose 1996 debut album Nocturnal is held in high esteem by rap aficionados. Price was part of the Brooklyn rap scene since the early ‘90s, and recently performed as a solo artist. His last album was 2012’s Mic Tyson. Billboard reports:
“It is with beyond a heavy heart that Duck Down Music is sadly confirming that Sean Price passed away early this morning in his Brooklyn apartment, Saturday, August 8th, 2015,” reads a statement from his reps. “The cause of death is currently unknown, but it was reported that he died in his sleep. He’s survived by his wife, and his three children.
