Elizabeth Banks Developing Fox Comedy by ‘Suburgatory’ Creator Emily Kapnek

Elizabeth Banks has a new TV project in the works. According to Variety, Fox has given a pilot production commitment to a half-hour single-cam comedy called Front Man, which centers on an “overindulged only child” named Paul who is “born to two doting helicopter parents. As he approaches 30, Paul is forced to acknowledge that his dream of becoming a famous singer and songwriter isn’t happening. When he’s wrenched from the comfort of his family home, he must try to stand on his own so he takes the gig of front man for a local wedding band — where he learns about much more than wedding reception staples.” The series is created by Suburgatory and Selfie creator Emily Kapnek, who will co-executive produce alongside Banks and her husband Max Handelman. If the series gets a pilot order, Banks is expected to direct as well.
