Trick ‘r Treat writer/director Michael Dougherty is taking on another holiday this December with Krampus, a horror comedy starring Adam Scott, Allison Tolman, Emjay Anthony, Toni Collette, and David Koechner, and yesterday USA Today revealed the first photos from the film. According to Dougherty, Krampus will combine a mix of tropes from Christmas, horror, comedy, and dark fantasy films, and the holiday monster will stay true to the Krampus legend: “He’s not Freddy or Jason or Leatherface, this unstoppable monster that kicks down your door and rampages and grabs you. If you study the myth, there’s something darkly playful about him. He’s having a good time doing what he does and he enjoys the cat-and-mouse aspect of it.” Krampus hits theaters on Friday, December 4th.
