In an interview promoting The Martian, Ridley Scott revealed he’s planning not one, not two, but possibly as many as three new films in the Prometheus saga, which like its mythological namesake will live on forever, periodically being scoured by vulturous critics. Scott told German website FilmFutter that the upcoming Prometheus 2 would not be the film to tie in to the Alien series — that, he said, would not happen until the third or fourth film, at which point the Prometheus franchise will wrap its tentacles around the Alien franchise, force itself down its throat, and birth a new, horrifying series the likes of which have never been seen.
