Stephen Colbert’s reign as host of The Late Show officially began Tuesday evening, and he kicked things off with jokes about his old character, himself, Ashley Madison, The Mentalist, and Willie Nelson. (His hair is messed up because he was busy doing this.) Before the premiere, the New York Times noted that Colbert was cagey about whether he would do a monologue: “Really? Are you going to do a monologue?” Colbert asked a reporter who assumed there would be one. Yet, here’s the monologue, as well as the new Late Show theme song:
