Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot just got an indie competitor. A new indie comedy called Ghost Team is in the works, and it’s got a pretty interesting ensemble cast attached. Directed by Oliver Irving and written by Peter Warren, the film centers on “a ragtag team of amateur ghost hunters who get more than they bargained for when they embark on their own paranormal investigation.” Jon Heder will star, and David Krumholtz, Melonie Diaz, Justin Long, Broad City’s Paul W. Downs, SNL’s Tom Schiller, and Amy Sedaris round out the cast. Production on the film started this week in Long Island. “We have a very carefully selected ensemble cast,” Irving says on the project. “They’re incredible to work with, and so funny that I have to stop myself from laughing and spoiling all the takes. But it’s gonna get scary too!” Ghost Team will make Irving’s second film following 2008’s How to Be starring Robert Pattinson, which won the Slamdance Film Festival’s Special Jury Honorable Mention.
