First Look at Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie: You Can Take the Girl Out of London, But You Can’t Take the Alcohol Out of the Girl

After years of the will-they-won’t-they rumor mill, Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone are officially heading to the big screen: Fox and BBC Films have released the first photo of Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, and judging from the photo and log line, we’re in store for a lot of alcohol-and-nicotine-fueled fun. The film, adapted from the immensely popular and long-running BBC series, will see the duo fleeing to the French Riviera after being “blamed for a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party.” Attempting to escape from the ensuing media storm, they arrive at the “glamorous playground of the super-rich” completely penniless, and proceed to devise a plan to turn their temporary hideout into a permanent lifestyle. Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley will reprise their roles, while many other original cast members, including Julia Sawalha as Saffy, Jane Horrocks as Bubble, and June Whitfield as Mother, will also return.

“I am thrilled and excited to finally start filming,” Saunders said in an announcement. “We are all taking our medication and hoping for the best.” The film will come out in theaters sometime next year, so go decimate a minibar in the meantime.
