Bill Hader is set to star in Jesse Andrews’s Empress of Serenity, a dramedy inspired by David Foster Wallace’s A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again. Don’t quit nerding out just yet — this film has everything: John Malkovich will produce, along with Stephen Chbosky (You may have read his novel Perks of Being a Wallflower, or seen the movie, or both. Three times.), and it will be shot somewhere in the Pacific Ocean — the most indie body of water there is. Empress of Serenity follows a man (Hader) who embarks on a cruise to bond with his father. Infinite jest ensues.
