One of HBO’s new comedies just landed its series premiere date. According to Deadline, HBO has announced that the Duplass Brothers-produced Animals will premiere on the network Friday, February 5th at 11:30pm. Created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano, the animated series centers on “the creatures native to Earth’s least-habitable environment: New York City. Lovelorn rats, gender-questioning pigeons, and aging bedbugs in the midst of a midlife crisis engage in awkward small talk, moral ambiguity, and existential woes startlingly similar to that of the humans with whom they co-exist.” Nick Kroll, Aziz Ansari, Katie Aselton, Chelsea Peretti, Rob Corddry, Molly Shannon, Adam Scott, Nathan Fielder, and more are among the voice cast. The series’ debut season will have 10 episodes, and a second season is already in the works at HBO.
