All the hosts like to say there isn’t a war for late night anymore, but there is seemingly a singing competition for late night. And weekly or so, James Corden proves himself to be the king — sorry, Jimmy Fallon; sorry, Stephen Colbert. Last night The Late Late Show did a late-night version (as in the genre of TV, not like it’s adult) of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and it was weirdly beautiful. You kind of wish there weren’t jokes in it. The man’s so musical, his name should be James Chord-en.
