Stephen Colbert Pokes Fun at Star Wars Marketing, Which Must Feel Like Mocking His Own Child

You can see the hurt in the man’s eyes. Last night, Stephen Colbert poked fun at the intense Star Wars marketing spreading throughout the galaxy, including but not limited to CoverGirl’s the Beauty Force Awakens cosmetics line. Colbert even imagines a future for Star Wars–brand eggs, a product that seems perfectly cutting in its absurdity until you realize Colbert has literally just shown you a perfectly preserved piece of Luke Skywalker soap from 1977. That wad of soap was his most-prized possession. To Colbert, making fun of anything Star Wars must honestly feel like making fun of the Pope. And not just any Pope, either. The cool one.
