Master impersonator Dana Carvey is behind a new competition show in the works at USA. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carvey will executive produce and serve as an “in-house mentor” for a new series called First Impressions, a half-hour series where amateur impressionists compete against each other every week. “There are so many great impressionists and First Impressions gives them an opportunity to showcase their talents,” Carvey said on the project. “Besides, I’ve always enjoyed watching an impressionist nail somebody… as in capture their voice. Now I get paid to watch.” First Impressions will make Carvey’s first regular television gig since The Dana Carvey Show ended in 1996. USA has yet to announce a premiere date.
