Over eight million people live in the great city of New York, a thriving metropolis and the most tightly-populated city in the country. Now add an additional two million to that eight and you’ll have the number of people who tried to buy the 750,000 available tickets to Adele’s American tour. As per a memo from Ticketmaster, over two million people tried to buy the 120,000 available tickets to Adele’s New York show alone. It is, as the memo put it, easily the most people that have ever flocked to the ticket-selling site at once. And we’re talking huge stadiums, not intimate 184-seat pubs.
