CeeLo Green visited The Steve Harvey Show on Tuesday to address Voice departure rumors, apologize for past actions (again), and promote his latest album. During the interview, the singer claimed that his 2012 ecstasy case was blown out of proportion, and that he and the woman involved are now on amicable terms. “I’m fortunate to still have fans who are forgiving and understanding,” he added, calling what happened a mistake. “But I am not my mistakes. And either it be by default or design, I am here, humbled and humanized and with a heartfelt new album that really does address the wisdom and understanding that I got out of the experience.”

Heart Blanche, the album to which CeeLo alluded, debuted last month to mixed reviews, and has been the linchpin of the artist’s attempt at a career comeback. The former Voice coach in 2014 ultimately dodged jail time for the drug scandal, but didn’t avoid the cancellation of a reality series or the scorn of fans and followers after penning a handful of ill-advised rape tweets, which he also acknowledged on Harvey. “I do sincerely apologize to anybody who I may have offended,” he said, “and I’ve been entertaining you for the last 20 years now, and I would love to continue if you would have me.”
