Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz already gave comedy a great gift by releasing hours of raw, cringeworthy campaign ad footage (that The Daily Show and Full Frontal had lots of fun with), but now he’s taken things one step further and made a parody ad himself, which ran in Iowa during SNL over the weekend. “In the spirit of the upcoming holiday we are excited to bring a Cruz family Christmas into the homes of SNL viewers in Iowa,” the Cruz campaign told the Independent Journal on the latest ad, above. “Ted is a longtime fan of SNL, so the chance to film his own SNL-style commercial was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up!”
