Congratulations. Even when faced with all the horrors of modern technology, while the global temperature creeps ever upward, and as we face a long and torturous road to a presidential election, it’s still possible to feel joy. Why? Because, according to The Wrap, your faves Mackenzie Davis and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will star in an episode of Netflix’s upcoming 12-episode season of Black Mirror. Davis is currently one of the best things about Halt and Catch Fire and also recently appeared in The Martian as one of many worried NASA employees. Mbatha-Raw stars in Concussion across from Will Smith, but she’s best known for playing a pop star (and singing) in Beyond the Lights and an 18th-century British aristocrat in Belle. Their Black Mirror episode, which will surely be as devastating as this casting news is wonderful, is set to be directed by Owen Harris. Harris previously helmed Black Mirror’s “Be Right Back,” which featured Hayley Atwell, Domhnall Gleeson, and all your anxieties about losing a significant other.
