Were you expecting Charlie Puth’s debut album to come and go without another high-profile duet? That’s practically child’s play for the duet partner du jour who, in a very short amount of time, has sung/made out with Meghan Trainor and scored a Golden Globe nom with Wiz Khalifa. His latest duet is with none another than last weekend’s SNL temptress, Selena Gomez, on a song the two have been teasing on Instagram for weeks. “We Don’t Talk Anymore” is finally here, and the two are sounding decidedly cavalier about their failed hypothetical (???) relationship. It’s a kiss-off for the Tinder age — that feeling when the person you’ve been DMing all night, every night, suddenly ghosts. It’s too awkward to find out what actually went wrong, so instead you’re all, “Oh, it’s such a shame we don’t talk anymore like we used to do.” And she’s all, “Every now and then I think you might want me to come show up at your door,” perhaps channeling her inner stalker. “Should’ve known your love was a game,” you both sing, totally over it — that is, until you meet again on the video shoot because this song has hit written all over it. Shawn and Camila, your move.
