While promoting How to Be Single, Leslie Mann and Dakota Johnson found themselves across from a particularly attractive reporter (Chris Van Vliet from WSVN Miami) and decided that hitting on him would be a lot more fun than actually answering questions. Mann quickly derails the interview by complimenting the reporter’s socks and asking if he’s single. But Johnson, an underappreciated comedic performer, runs away with the rest of the interview, asking the reporter whether he works out — “swole patrol,” Johnson deadpans — insisting that he unbutton his shirt, and then making it clear that his attempt at a pick-up line is truly terrible — “don’t ever say that again.” If you want to woo Anastasia Steele, try harder.
