We know a little about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’s Jazz Age setting from peeks at plot details and the Harry Potter spinoff’s first trailer, but now we’ve got a more in-depth look at the cast and characters. Eddie Redmayne plays Newt Scamander, who loses track of his magical suitcase full of fantastic beasts in New York, while Alison Sudol and Katherine Waterston play sisters Tina and Queenie Goldstein. Dan Fogler plays Jacob, a “No-Maj” (the, let’s say, creative American word for muggle) who fills out the quartet of central characters after they go on the run — from Colin Farrell, apparently, who plays an auror. Colin Farrell doesn’t talk in this preview, which is too bad, because it would be thrilling to hear him talk about wizards in his Irish brogue.
