Just as David Bowie had no memory of ever recording Station to Station, Matthew Perry has revealed that his former drug abuse has left him with no memory of shooting multiple seasons of Friends. Speaking to BBC Radio 2 about his play The End of Longing (rehearsals of which kept him out of the Friends quasi-reunion), Perry proved unable to answer a question about his least favorite episode of the NBC sitcom. “I think the answer is, I don’t remember three years of it,” he said. “So none of those … Somewhere between season three and six … I was a little out of it.” (If true, this would mean the actor has no memory of “Mrs. Chanandler Bong,” or the moment Chandler got paired up with Monica.)

Perry struggled with alcohol and painkiller addiction throughout his time on the show; as he told People in 2013, “I couldn’t stop. Eventually things got so bad that I couldn’t hide it, and then everybody knew.”
