The Simpsons Opening Credits Is One Massive ’80s Orgasm

Sunday’s upcoming episode of The Simpsons, “Teenage Mutant Milk-Caused Hurdles” is going full-on ’80s. The Simpsons handed opening-credit honors to the animator Steve Cutts, who re-imagines Homer as a Don Johnson–style crime fighter in an ’80s mash-up of sunlit vistas, white suits, and catching bad guys smoking Cubans on yachts! The bad guy in question is Ned Flanders as Fernando Whitmore. Go shoot ’em up, LA-Z Rider! We have a blessedly loud-colored shirt to go unbutton.
