Check Out Some ’80s and ’90s Clips of Harold Ramis at The Second City

Welcome to The Second City Archives, in which we post an exclusive clip each week of some of comedy’s biggest superstars performing early in their careers on the legendary Chicago stage. Second City has generously given us a glimpse into their extensive archive of live performances, and over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing some rare and retro comedy never before seen on the web.

It’s a big week for Second City with the news that they’re set to open the Harold Ramis Film School in Chicago this September, so to celebrate, they’ve unearthed two clips featuring Ramis from both 1985 and 1999. In the above clip, Ramis shows up in a Second City 25th anniversary special in another rendition of the “Funeral” sketch, and below, he talks Ghostbusters during a panel moderated by Kevin Dorff alongside Tim Kazurinsky, Peter Murrieta, Jeff Garlin, Tom Gianas, Adam McKay, Jon Glaser, Tina Fey, and Jenna Jolovitz. Watch some other Ramis clips from the Second City Archives here and here, and check out Ramis’s original 1972 performance of the “Funeral” sketch alongside John Belushi and Joe Flaherty here.
