an update on the state of dance in america

Man, Justin Timberlake Sure Does the Carlton a Lot Now

Oh boy, Justin Timberlake is at it again. Oh yes he is. The multi-hyphenate singer-actor-golfer took to the grass this week with Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Carlton in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. You may have seen Ribeiro do a special kind of dance on the show. Guess what? At the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf Tournament (have you heard of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf Tournament? The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf Tournament is great!) this weekend, Timberlake and Ribeiro did the dance together. It was splendid.

Not for nothing, but Timberlake and Ribeiro have done the Carlton together before — though sadly, this other time it was at the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament, not the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf Tournament. It was similarly glorious. You could say that Justin Timberlake is bringing Carlton back (yeah!), he thinks it’s special, what’s behind his back (his hands, because that’s how this dance works). But that is not something we will say, because this is a classy establishment.
