Jill Soloway didn’t have to search very far to cast the lead of her new Amazon pilot. Deadline reports that Transparent cast member Kathryn Hahn has signed on to star in I Love Dick, which is based on Chris Krasus’s 1997 novel of the same name. Playwright Sarah Gubbins is writing the script for the pilot, which is set in Marfa, Texas and follows “a struggling married couple, failing wife and independent filmmaker Chris (Hahn) and Sylvere, and their mutual obsession with an off-putting but charismatic professor, Dick. Through that obsession, Chris goes on a journey of self-discovery and eventually transformative power. Told in Rashomon-style shifts of POV, I Love Dick charts the unraveling of a marriage, the awakening of an artist and the reluctant deification of a man named Dick.” Soloway will direct the pilot.
