Vincent Kartheiser, who played the inimitably terrible Pete Campbell on Mad Men, is joining the cast of Hulu’s Casual, which is about the dating woes of people who are occasionally kind of terrible, but never as terrible as Pete. Kartheiser will play Jordan, the head of a venture-capital firm who ends up working with Tommy Dewey’s Alex. Jordan is “competent and professional,” but things start to fall apart when Alex realizes that Jordan’s engaged to one of his old girlfriends (is that character Alison Brie? Can she be?). Aside from a turn in National Geographic’s Thanksgiving mini-series Saints and Strangers and a spot on the jury of “Twelve Angry Men Inside Amy Schumer,” this is Kartheiser’s first big postMad Men TV role.
