It’s been a couple months since early casting rumblings had Amber Heard joining Aquaman, but the actress finally confirmed her role with ET on Thursday. The 29-year-old will indeed take a turn as Mera, the DC universe’s queen of the sea and love interest of Aquaman, first in next year’s Justice League Part One, and then in 2018’s standalone Aquaman. Heard also told ET that Zack Snyder’s Justice League team is in the process of building her costume, which, like Jason Momoa’s, sounds like it will be a badass, but confusing get-up. “It’s interesting,” she said. “I’m wearing a half suit of armor, half scales, I dunno — it’s strange, it’s strange.” Roll the clip below to gauge her true feelings about scales, and pray Snyder’s inevitable first-look-at-Mera tweet comes sooner rather than later.
