Who would win in a fight between Batman and Superman? The answer, of course, is Warner Bros. Early reports are indicating that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is on track to earn more than $78 million today and somewhere between $160 to $175 million by the end of the weekend. That would make it clobber the current record for a March opening weekend, held by 2012’s The Hunger Games, which clocked in around $152.5 million. A significant portion of this weekend’s ticket sales come from massive preorders made before the tentpole flick’s massively negative reviews started rolling in. The next few weeks will reveal whether those critical words just bounce off of the movie like so many bullets fired at Superman’s bulging pecs.
