Another X-Men film, another PR cycle of actors having to disavow earlier comments about leaving the never-ending franchise. The release of Days of Future Past saw Hugh Jackman have to walk back his vow that the third Wolverine film would be his last (it will be), and now the imminent arrival of Apocalypse means Jennifer Lawrence must share his same fate. Lawrence said last year that Apocalypse would be her final go-round in the series, but this week, with the publicity cycle for the sequel in full swing, she’s singing a different tune. “I am dying to come back,” Lawrence tells Empire. “I love these movies, I love being in them. I love ensemble movies because it’s not on anyone’s shoulders.” As Empire notes, that’s not exactly a promise she will be back, but still: These X-Men movies have more public recantations that a Soviet show trial.
