Maya Rudolph and Martin Short’s upcoming live variety show Maya and Marty in Manhattan just added another SNL star to its cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kenan Thompson has officially signed on to join the series, which is slated to premiere on Tuesday, May 31st at 10:00pm. “With their cumulative expertise and experience in live comedy, we couldn’t ask for a better trio to deliver what we know will be a fantastic show,” said NBC exec Paul Telegdy on the news. “Their respective accomplishments on Saturday Night Live and beyond are extraordinary.” SNL seasons generally end in mid-May, so the move will not affect Thompson’s work on the show.
