It’s fine. You didn’t really like being a social-media strategist or a bus driver or whatever anyway. PBS announced Wednesday that it’s renewed its Civil War drama Mercy Street, giving you a quantity of original dramas so massive, you have to give up everything and devote the entirety of your days to watching TV. According to EW, the second season of the show, which follows two volunteer nurses from opposing sides of the war, will “introduce a number of new elements, taking us closer to the fight and into the halls of Confederate power, all set against the intensifying war, starting with the Seven Days’ Battle and culminating with Antietam.” So what happens when there are literally more original dramas than there are eyes to watch them? Ohhh, duh! We’ll get more eyes. Got it. Great idea.
