However you might have felt about Sam Smith’s performance of the Spectre theme song “Writing’s on the Wall” at the Oscars this Sunday, just know that Sam Smith himself thought it was a real turd in the aural punch bowl. “It was the worst moment of my life. Singing was horrible. I hated every minute,” he told the BBC following his performance. Of course, Sam Smith was at that moment probably experiencing an adrenaline comedown most singers could barely conceive of, and thus could be expected to feel anxious about his performance. Still, given what happened to their Spectre theme song, you know Radiohead loves this at least a little bit. Just a few happy sighs. A shy grin maybe.
