Touted as one of the ACM Awards’ centerpiece draws, the Katy Perry–Dolly Parton duet proved to be a burst of ephemeral fun. The bright, colorful pair performed a medley of “Coat of Many Colors,” “Jolene,” and “9 to 5” — all crowd-pleasing choices that had the audience at Las Vegas’s MGM Grand Garden Arena dancing and singing along. Perry was also on hand Sunday night to give her “personal hero” the Tex Ritter Award, which celebrated Parton for last year’s Coat of Many Colors TV movie. “This means the world to me,” Parton said. “And so do you.” Roll the clip above for the performance (R.I.P., those earrings), and scope out the rest of the night’s winners here.
