As promised, Zedd and Kesha’s official version of “True Colors” is here. The song, first showcased as a Coachella surprise, features the latter passionately delivering many of the original lyrics: “All my life, one page at a time / I’ll show you my, my true colors,” she roars in the chorus. “And no, and no, I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes / Let me show you my, my true colors / It ain’t a rainbow.” A powerful change comes during the bridge, however, when Kesha says, “I’ve escaped my capture, and I have no master.” Listen below:

“True Colors” signifies the first new single with Kesha’s name attached since 2013’s “Timber.” It comes amid a fight to free Kesha from her contract with Sony and producer Dr. Luke. And for her part, Kesha said, “This is more than a song,” before “True Colors” dropped, “it’s a declaration of my truth.”
