Ever wondered what it’s like to work with Martin Sheen? At the Tribeca Film Fest’s panel for Grace and Frankie, Jane Fonda shared her experience, describing her co-star as the perfect politician. “Martin has nothing but stories,” Fonda said Thursday night at the SVA Theatre, “and he recites Shakespeare, often in a Hispanic accent.” Why a Hispanic accent? Sheen was born Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estévez and in 1967 played “the first Hispanic Hamlet” in Naked Hamlet. The fun doesn’t stop at Shakespeare, though. Apparently Sheen can also be heard singing Catholic hymns on set. Each morning he enters the makeup trailer and greets his peers with the proclamation, “God bless each and every one of you, even the undeserved, and you know who you are!” How generous. President Bartlet would approve.
